Step by Step Instructions for Replacing your Diverter Valves and Air Controls!
Step 1: Make Sure the Pumps are Turned Off
Turning off the pumps before adjusting or replacing a diverter valve or air control is critical for safety and system integrity. If the pumps remain on, the pressure in the plumbing can cause the caps to detach forcefully, potentially damaging the acrylic shell or causing injury. Additionally, maintaining pressure during the process risks damaging the plumbing beneath the shell. Shutting off the pumps ensures proper installation, prevents damage to system components, and promotes safe maintenance.
Step 2: Remove the Cap of the Diverter or Air Control
You can remove the cap of the diverter or air control by squeezing both sides of of the cap and pulling it off the acrylic shell
Step 3: Remove the Seal
Hold both sides of the clear/white seal. Turn the seal counterclockwise and thread it off off the ring raised above the acrylic shell.
Step 4: Remove the O-Ring and Inner Rotor Assembly
Pull out the black o-ring located in the grooved ring on the top of the threads. Pull out the inner rotor assembly from inside the plumbing beneath the threads.
Step 5: Replace Elements of Diverter or Air Control
Begin by placing the new rotor assembly down into the plumbing beneath the threads. Place a new o-ring with some o-ring lube in the grooved ring on the top of the threads. Screw on your new clear/white seal onto the threads. Place on and push down the new cap on top of the seal.
